Karnataka Education Act, 1983, Section 2(29) states: “Ragging is defined as intimidating, inducing, compelling, or forcing a student to do any act that violates his person, diminishes his human dignity, or exposes him to ridicule or causes him to refrain from doing any lawful act, by using criminal force against him or by holding out to him any treat of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, injury, or the use of criminal force.”
Section 116: Ragging Penalties
Raiding is not permitted for anyone enrolled in an educational program, including one run directly by the university or the central government.
If found guilty of violating sub-section (1), the offender faces a maximum sentence of one year in prison, a maximum fine of two thousand rupees, or both.

The wellbeing of our students is our top priority at SDIT. Our thoughtfully developed 4-step redressal process enables us to promptly and successfully handle student complaints.
Students can file complaints with the student welfare officer for solve concerning non-academic matters, such as any incidents of ragging or issues, scholarships, and cultural and sporting events.
It is mandatory for students to complete the Student Grievance Form and send it to the Director of Student Affairs either by handwritten letter or email. The department’s Proctor must also receive a copy of the complaint.
In their complaint, students must make sure to provide all of their credentials (name, course, year, etc.).
The Directorate of Student Affairs will document and confirm the complaint upon receipt.
Following the complaint’s verification, the Department investigates the matter and takes the required action to fix the problem.
The student is informed of the resolution and the complaint once it has been addressed.

Shree Devi Institute of Technology is dedicated to providing a respectful and deserving environment free from harassment and discrimination for both its staff and students. The purpose of the college’s Women Anti- Harassment Committee is to increase awareness of women’s issues and create a safe environment for female students. With the objective of promoting women’s intellectual and social advancement, the committee advocates for women’s empowerment via awareness campaigns, seminars, guest lectures, and other welfare initiatives.
As chairperson, a female instructor is in charge. Representatives from department, including faculty and students, make up the group. The committee develops strategies to accomplish the goals during its recurring meetings.
